Fall General Meeting 2024
This year our Fall General Meeting will take place on November 5th, 2024 6.30-8pm at the Bike Kitchen.
Note that this year we will be voting on some by-law changes, as well as voting in board members.
UBC students who hold a Bike Kitchen/Bike Co-op membership are eligible to vote and to run for the board!
Board members can run for President, Vice-President, Treasurer (these are executive positions that hold specific committee chairs), or for a General Committee Chair position. If you wish to nominate yourself for the board, hold tight or email Zoe at admin(at)thebikekitchen.ca for more info. The nomination form will be open from Monday October 14th, 5pm to Monday November 4th, 5pm.

Summary of proposed by-law changes:
Outdated and old acronyms and wording were corrected (ie. CSC vs AMS, Active vs Regular Member)
By-law numbering, acronyms, short hand and capitalization of titles were standardized across the document
Bylaw 2.4 was changed to reflect use of Qualtrics and different election procedure
Portfolios were re-defined as committees to be more in line with current operations of the Co-op / Bike Kitchen (Bylaw 5)
New board composition and modified board privileges are reflected in changes to Bylaw 4. The board size has been decreased and duties of each board member are more defined. Some board privileges have been removed as they did not reflect current operations / space (ie. cubby space for board members was removed, privileges extending past board tenure removed).
