It is with the continued support of the Alma Mater Society of UBC, Campus + Community Planning, and our community that we can continue to provide our programs and services.

We would like to give special thanks to our biggest supporter — the students of UBC!  We extend our heartfelt thanks to each student who contributes to the Bike Kitchen, both through the generous donations of volunteer time and through the $4.17 we receive per student annually.

As approved by student vote in the AMS Referendum in March 2023, the Bike Kitchen receives $4.17 per student annually as part of their student fees. The proceeds from this fee go towards supporting sustainable transportation options and providing the UBC community with programs and services to make cycling more accessible.

Membership is available to anyone who attends a Member/Volunteer Orientation (check Calendar for dates!) and then signs a waiver.

  • Voting Rights: Vote in future board members and constitution changes at our Annual General Meetings

    • *you must be a member at least 30 days prior to the General Meeting

  • Free access to the Kids Bike Library.

  • Become a board member! There are many opportunities to join the board and learn new skills!

  • Access to the Volunteer Team - the more hours you do, the more benefits you get (like free shop time, free workshops, merch, etc.)

If the listed orientations don’t work for your schedule, email us and we can make alternative arrangements!

Spring General Meeting 2025 

This year's Spring General Meeting provides an overview of the programs and operations of the Bike Kitchen, as well as voting in board elections.

Taking place at the Bike Kitchen, room 36 in the basement of the Life Building.

You can attend whether you are a member or not. If you would like to check or update your membership status, please email Zoe at admin@thebikekitchen.ca - you must be a member for 30 days minimum to vote.

Please register here to help us plan numbers for the event. An RSVP gives you access to food & snacks!

Are you interested in running for the board?! We have one spot vacant on the board for this round of elections. Nominations are accepted in advance via this form here; nominations will close Monday March 10th at 6.30pm. Email the board at board@thebikekitchen.ca if you have questions !
